Runaway and Homeless Youth National Training

Spotlight on National Runaway Prevention Month

Alashia Mays, Case Manager, and June Albanowski, Director of Youth Services attend the 2023 Runaway and Homeless Youth National Grantee Training in Seattle, WA

Anchor House recently attended the 2023 Runaway and Homeless Youth National Grantee Training in Seattle, Washington. Staff represented our Emergency Youth Shelter and Street Outreach Programs.

We joined nearly 1,000 providers from across the country to network and learn new outcomes in safe housing, education, employment, and social and emotional well-being.

As an example, the 2023 Mercer County Point-in-Time count found a 34% increase in homelessness between 2022 and 2023. Our Shelter, Street Outreach, and other programs provide a continuum of care to help serve the local need, and learnings from this training are already being put into action to better serve the community.
